new releases | digital scrapbooking

Hello!

It has been a long time since I have done a digital post.  I don't know why I always forget to post my digital stuff here.  Well, starting today I am going to remedy that.

I have several designers with new releases today.  I will probably have more to share tomorrow as I am still finishing projects for a couple of them.

First up:

Like a Boss | Sahlin Studio
*technically this is a hybrid page.  I made this using the print and cut feature with my Silhouette Cameo

And next:

Stars and Galaxies | Vinnie Pearce

and one from last weeks release:

Make It Meaningful II | Vinnie Pearce

That is it for the moment but check back tomorrow or Sunday for another installment.

summer vacation | photos

Summer vacation.  It is something we look forward to every year.  We drudge through the end of the school year thinking about how much fun our vacation is going to be.  Where are we going to go this year?  What I we going to do?  How far do we want to drive or how close to home will we stay?  This year was a little different, though.  This year my husband was gone for three months before vacation AND we had just moved.  I honestly thought that we would not have a real vacation.  Surprise, surprise, my hubby graduated from his academy and took us to the beach in South Carolina on our way home.  He rented a little condo and a golf cart at Ocean Lakes Family Campground just down from Myrtle beach.  It was so relaxing.  I am so glad it was a quiet vacation.  The last few months have been a bit chaotic so a chance to unwind was just what we all needed.

The kids loved the sand and even Kaitlyn ventured out into the water this year.  Daddy bought them boards for surfing the waves.  Their smiles were worth every bit that was spent.  I think the best part of this trip was the one on one time they had with their dad.  After not seeing him for three months, they needed that.  I needed that.  That, my friends, is what vacation is to me.  Uninterrupted family time.  And lots of sun.  LOTS of sun.  haha

in our own backyard | pink paislee

Good Morning!

I have another post and another FREE instruction sheet over at Pink Paislee.  If you haven't checked out the Summer Series featuring my favorite collection, "ATLAS", you should do that now.  So many amazing projects and they all have free downloadable PDFs with step by step instructions for how to make each one.

This time I am showing you all how I put together this layout:

This is my second project using a full 12x12 background instead of my usual 8.5x11.  It was definitely fun!

Thanks for having a look!

coffee | kellie stamps

Good morning!

I have another layout here with my favorite subject and my favorite stamps sets.  I am trying to lessen my obsession with coffee but so far it isn't really working.  My 3 cups a day habit is still going strong.  haha

This page was actually inspired by a page I saw at Studio Calico by Mana1 (here).  I love the simple design and the circles mimicking the coffee cup.  I made the large circle by placing a bowl over the area I planned to have the doily and the photo.  When tracing the bowl I kept in mind the spots I wanted to put the stamp and the word stickers.  I left those blank and hand drew the arrows and dots to fill in the extra space.
For the "coffee" stamp in the upper right corner I used my yellow colored pencil to create an ombre effect.  I like the little pop of color there.  Of course since I had yellow there and in the middle I decided to add it to the lower left stamp as well.  It created a nice flow around the page.

Aren't these pink paislee stars delicious?  I love the little gold veins in the cork.

This little coffee cup was just right for this spot.  I love that it also continues the subtle circle theme I had going.

Sometimes simple pages are just what I need to convey the thought I have in my head when creating a layout.  The focus is on the photo but little bits of things help make it interesting.  It certainly seems to work here.

brunch | kellie stamps

Hello all!  I have yet another page to share.  This has been a wonderfully busy month!
Today's page is a little different.  I decided to document my recent trip to Chick-Fil-A with the newest food stamp by Kellie Stamps : "Brunch" by making a "project life" style page.
Now, we don't eat out very much.  It's more of a hassle to wrangle my 3 children to dinner (or lunch) than it is to just make a meal.  This day was really special for my kids because they had certificates from VBS for free kids meals so I took them out.  It was pure chaos.  I think everyone had the same idea that we did to go out to lunch.  We, by sheer luck, actually found a parking space otherwise we were going to just go home.  haha  I am not comfortable with lots of people and I was ready to just drive off.  Oh the sacrifices I make for my children.

(Turns out, it was more of a sacrifice than I thought.  As much as I enjoyed this salad at the time, my stomach did not love it over the next four days.  It was not pretty.)

In spite of my discomfort, the kids had a fantastic time and I had something to put in my little "book of me".

july blog hop | gossamer blue

Good morning and welcome to the Gossamer Blue blog hop!

Today I am going to share with you a page I made about part of our trip to Arizona last year.  Every year we go to spend a couple weeks with my parents (except this year since we moved).  The kids spend the entire time getting dirty and soaking up the sun.  Pretty much the perfect summer.  Last summer my dad had a rock pile in the back yard and Kaitlyn was up on top and then sliding down multiple times a day.

On this evening I caught her up on top yelling that she was queen of the mountain.

This day was picture perfect.

I think my favorite part is that big wood veneer camera.  *swoon
